If you’ve been in a cave for the past year (or just haven’t heard about VGL like me) you might be interested to learn about a concert currently on tour that’s like no other.
Video Games Live looks like an amazing show.
For those of you who don’t know what Video Games Live please allow me to explain. Video Games Live is a live performance combining your favorite video game music with a full on set symphony that even adds a little mix of large screen visuals from the games you love. The aim is simple: to give life to games and the culture thats grown behind it, all in a fresh and appealing way.
And I think it’s brillant! Taking 4 years to develop, write and produce, creators Tommy Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall look like they’ve truly tapped into a new level of gaming-related entertainment. And by bridging the music with a theatrical show VGL is opening the gap between gamers and non-gamers alike.
What I think is amazing is how they were able to get gaming’s elite publishers into their vision – from the console icon Nintendo with their Mario & Zelda franchise to Konami’s Metal Gear Solid series, SquareEnix’s Kingdom Hearts, to even recent gaming hits like Microsoft’s Halo, and Blizzard’s Warcraft series it all sounds like an amazing ride.
A full fledged video game concert. Who’d thought? Check it out for yourself – Video Games Live is coming to California on more than one occassion.
In fact, a show is occuring next month on March 9th in San Francisco!
We can’t wait!
